Quakelive Missile Prediction - Feedback Wanted

We are starting to update the Quakelive hack once again and have added some displays for missile endpoints (rockets, plasma balls, nails, etc). This does not only include your own missiles but everyone elses in the map. Could be useful to know where not to go . So what I would like from the communitiy is some feedback on how you would like this data to be displayed. Box, dynamic lighting, text, time til impact, splash damage warnings, etc.

User Interface / Support
You may have noticed a little update to the menu at the top there:

Yep, there's 2 new tabs for you to take a look at!

The Live Stats tab provides you with an overview of what's happening on whiteLight with regards to the hacks / loader at any one time (this replaces the old 'Session Listing' page).

The Client Troubleshooter tab provides you with a step-by-step troubleshooter for all common whiteLight issues, with clear and easy instructions on how to resolve them... I would like any feedback on this so if you have any, please let me know

Server Stability
As I'm sure most of you are already aware, the server was crashing quite frequently in the past few days since the major update we did. I have now applied a fix to this and the crashes should be put to a stop leading to a much more stable experience.

As I had to mention to you quite often, I would NOT take the server down for more than an hour before an update, and if I was going to I would definitely make a post or at least a message in the shoutbox to let you guys know what was happening and why.

Happy Birthday whiteLight!

We're officially 1 month old today, so it's not really a birthday for 2 reasons, 1; it was never born, and 2; it hasn't been a whole year yet.

However! I'd say we've achieved quite some things. Our hacks have been downloaded over 600 times, we have over 200 members, over 150 threads and over 650 posts in our community. This is a whole load of things to be proud of.

To celebrate, I've released a small update to the client (everybody should get this now, rather than a connection error - sorry about that!) and a fix to the server that allows us to do things like:

It looks a bit prettier (we have colours and a logged in status), but at the same time it's a lot more accurate! The problem before was that the 'Last played on' date was actually when you first used the client to play with that hack, which is completely inaccurate. Now, it's the actual last time that you started a session in that game.

Soon, we'll be showing how many times you've played exactly, which game, how long the session lasted, and so much more!

Please don't get attracted to the way it looks right now, as it will be completely different

One last important note!
For those of you still getting a security error (EC: 3) - STOP DOWNLOADING THE CLIENT! Seriously, you need to do it ONCE and ONCE only. It auto updates after that. If you download it again it thinks you're trying to hack it and goes mental, just don't do it.

If, however, you have already done this, you will have the option to go to a Help & Support page. If you click 'Yes' for that option, you will now be able to download an updated version of the Cleaner which will sort everything out for you in a single swoop, no need to browse to directories to delete stuff anymore..

... I thought I could as well just post an introduction. Despite that I suck at posting introductions. Just because I don't want act like an arrogant ass, when someone actually tries to create a good hacking community.

I have been around since vD.net. That was 5-6 years ago if my memory serves correct. I started out by just hacking with public cheats. And nowadays, I just mostly mess around with public cheats too (or I guess you could call wL semi-private). But I have also done some cheat development in the past (mostly OGL and D3D hooks, and some trickery with the Q1 engine). Currently, I'm kept more busy with the school (and I'm doing more misc things like network and game programming, less tinkering with the Windows internals), but you never know what the future brings.

What else? I'm 18 years old. From the land of the polar bears, Finland. Playing Quake Live. Probably a decent tier4 CAer without hacks too (or I was, before the awesome assist aim ruined my real skills!), but I like being in control.

No, this is not the nick I often use. But I'm starting to like this.

Mandatory Beta Participation

At 20:00GMT Thursday 26th January (27 hours from date of posting), usage of the beta version of the client will be mandatory.

We are hoping to release the beta version as a final release very soon, so we need everybody to test it as soon as possible. Since people still regularly download the normal version and ignore testing the beta, the only way to get enough testers is to force participation in testing.

If you are not using the beta client already, we suggest that you do so at the earliest convenience so that we are able to help you with any issues that you may have. You can download the new client by clicking 'Download Client' at the top, it goes straight to the beta now.

When the time comes, both the beta client and regular client will receive a notification that an update is available, and you will be required to download the upgrade before continuing. This process is very straightforward. If you are using the regular (1.0.3) client, you will be redirected to download a new version, if you are using the beta already (1.0.4), it should automatically update for you without much interference.

If you receive the notification for an update but have issues trying to proceed, please post in our Support forum.

EDIT: By the way, those of you that have sent me PMs.. I will respond as soon as possible. I'm extremely busy recently and have no time until mid-next week for "personal" support.
